Investor Information

The Broomfield Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is Broomfield’s primary agent for economic development. Founded in 1986 as a 501 (c) 6 non-profit corporation, BEDC promotes economic growth that enhances quality of life for our residents. In the past 10 years, more than $2.35 billion in new capital investment was generated in the City & County of Broomfield. These investments have resulted in the retention or creation of more than 22,926 jobs and the construction or leasing of more than 18 million sq. ft. of office, retail and industrial space.

BEDC’s success has been recognized by Site Selection magazine, the publication of CoreNet Global, the 5,000-member association of corporate real estate executives. The magazine annually recognizes the Top Ten Economic Development Corporations in North America, and BEDC received this honor in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

BEDC is a public-private partnership and receives its funding from both the City and County of Broomfield, as well as ninety private sector investors. The investment pledge of support allows BEDC to focus on implementation of our Strategic Plan and provides this community with the most efficient mechanism to achieve vitality in Broomfield’s economic base. This investment takes the form of direct monetary investments ranging from a minimum of $1,050 through the mid-teens, as well as contributions of time by investors.

In undertaking this initiative, the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation needs a broad sharing of personal involvement and financial support from all sectors of the community:

  • Residents
  • Property Owners
  • Retailers
  • The Media
  • Construction
  • Utilities
  • Manufacturers
  • Health Care Providers
  • Transportation
  • Service Companies
  • Financial Institutions
  • Professionals
  • Developers
  • Realtors
  • Government

The success of our economic development “effort” is of crucial importance to the current companies, employees, residents and property owners of the Broomfield area.

Because Broomfield is strategically located in the northwest quadrant of the Denver metropolitan area, we feel the growth and development that has happened in the community will continue for the next 10 to 20 years. The city currently has a population of 48,000 and it is estimated at build-out, the population will be 80,000. With the completion of the Northwest Parkway through Broomfield, we project that development will continue on its current pace, providing residents with a true quality of life community.
